The only good thing was the location. I knew the building was old, but the mattress still had a big stain that made it uncomfortable. At 8 am there was a sudden power cut—probably the breaker—so the lights went out. I called the front desk and it took a few minutes before the electricity was back on.

The room was near Hakodate Station, so I never had trouble finding places to eat. At night the hallway voices and the sound of doors opening and closing echoed, which was annoying. Later, the unit pass was so narrow that I had to bump my wall while taking a shower.
