We were greeted warmly from start to finish, and the place was so quiet—ideal for unwinding. I had an exceptional dinner with a breathtaking view, and there were no flaws at all in the hotel.

The setting is gorgeous, with a pool overlooking rice paddies and a stunning view from the restaurant. The staff are very attentive, and the bungalows, spread throughout the forest, are comfortable. The only downside is that the cuisine is standard; the flavors don’t match the presentation.

“Lovely surroundings - good stop over hotel”

We stopped here between Arugam Bay and Negombo, and the facilities were lovely. The restaurant served great meals at both dinner and breakfast, and the hotel manager was very accommodating. The pool was fantastic, overlooking the rice fields. Our room was nice, but I didn’t realize when booking that it had no walls—just a net—and the toilet was completely outdoors. Since it’s a 5‑star hotel, that should have been clearer. The room also lacked air conditioning, which was fine at night because we left early in the morning. Overall, I would stay again but choose an air‑conditioned room. Also note that the rice fields currently have no rice or water—probably because of the season—but the views are still pretty, making it a good stopover.

“So so”

The location is amazing and the concept is great. However, the staff seemed to be under the influence of some kind of drugs, especially the younger men. The older men at the hotel were fine, and the restaurant was good, but the service made you feel uncomfortable. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this needs to be brought to someone’s attention.

“Luxury in the jungle, amongst the rice paddies.”

The place is very beautiful and peaceful, with a strong sustainability philosophy. The fresh food made from their own organic gardens is the best we’ve tasted in Sri Lanka.
