The view from the window was nice, but it was in someone else’s house, so we weren’t independent; we felt like intruders even though we paid, making the situation uncomfortable.

The view of the Basilica was good, but the sheets should have been white cotton; breakfast was very basic with pre‑packed croissants and a small amount of coffee—fresh pastries would have been preferable, and the bathroom was not en suite.
