“Achtung Baustelle”
If the construction site weren’t right outside the door, I might rate this hotel differently. The rooms were clean and the overall ambience was nice, and the location is generally very central. However, a huge construction site was directly in front of the hotel. We couldn’t find the entrance at all and had to walk back and forth with heavy sports luggage through the site. The path was blocked, we had to remove barricades, the whole way was muddy, uneven, and we had to carry our suitcase several meters. Our clothes and shoes ended up on the ground. Our room faced straight out onto the construction site. The excavator with a jackhammer was right by the window. In Georgia there seems to be no nighttime quiet; work was loud 24/7. We barely slept. Only for the last night did they give us a different room facing the courtyard. It was still noisy, but not as bad. The walls rattled. Even in the restaurant, conversation was difficult because of the noise, and loud music was played. Evening service was quite difficult; many items on the menu were unavailable, some food wasn’t brought to us, and it took a long time. The rooms are really small, which you can see in the photos.
