Very friendly, I felt very welcome.

I found this suburban hostel to be a budget-friendly spot with a great price‑quality ratio thanks to its proximity to Cologne, where rates are sky‑high. The Horrem/Kerpen station is just a 5‑minute walk away, offering trains every 10‑20 minutes (S12, S19, etc.) that reach Cologne Hauptbahnhof in 20‑30 minutes. There’s also a convenient, free private parking lot. The real highlight was Carolin, a highly efficient and warm host who attentively handled all requests, problems, and generously offered advice and help, making our stay truly excellent. The staff were caring, breakfasts were fantastic, and the rooms were comfortable. I wholeheartedly recommend it. The only downside I spotted was that the bathrooms could use a refresh—new faucets and lighting would be welcome, as the building’s age (four generations of family ownership) starts to show.
