Hotel Strachanovka - Jánska Koliba

The wooden building is beautiful, styled like rustic cottages with charming décor in the hotel restaurant and bedrooms. The rooms are spacious with comfortable showers. Breakfast is nice, with vegetables, fruit, yogurts, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, salted fish, dried fruit, cereals, everything one could need, and more. Dinner is tasty. We were charged extra for the house account. It is important to know there is no elevator, though our room was on the first floor and that was not a problem. Also, the rooms are not cleaned daily.

The meals offer good value for money, but the music in the restaurant is annoying.

We had a half‑board and the food was luxurious! Dinner was a buffet, each night we sampled 4‑6 dishes and there was no way to pick badly. We didn't use the breakfast champagne, but it nicely illustrates the level of the food offering. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were also pleasantly surprised by a mid‑week change of the bed linens, something we hadn't experienced elsewhere. It deserves 11 out of 10 points.
