“Warm, friendly and enjoyable stay”
We flew in for a last‑minute escape with my 12‑year‑old son after a rough year, and Carl greeted us at the front desk, kindly offering to haul our luggage from the car. We stayed in a twin room that was roomy, had comfy beds, and included tea and coffee making facilities; though some say the shower is small, it was hot and more than adequate for us. The breakfast was supposed to cost £5 per person, but Carl added it on the house because it was our first visit. It was freshly cooked, hot, and delicious. The breakfast room felt relaxed and friendly, with regulars who knew Carl and his dad—proof of a great bed and breakfast. The location was superb, just a 5‑minute walk from the clock tower and the beach. Parking spots outside the property are a real bonus; I’d suggest asking for one if you’re driving. Overall, a warm, friendly, and enjoyable stay that we’d highly recommend. The only thing I’d nitpick is the towels, which could use an upgrade, but otherwise it was perfect.
