The room was spacious and the hosts were friendly, and the restaurant on the village square was nice. Communication was complicated as is often the case in Georgia, but the hosts spoke German.

The people were very kind and helpful, and the breakfasts were tasty. The cottage had a resting area under a huge linden tree, and the town center with bakeries, shops and fruit markets is just a walk away. You can stroll to the Inguri and Magana rivers. The sound insulation between adjacent rooms is poor.

The host is genuinely hospitable, diligent, and speaks excellent German. The room is clean and the shower is warm. Unfortunately the house is extremely sound‑permeable; a thin partition between the host’s family’s sleeping room and yours offers only a visual barrier, making it feel as though you’re sitting in the same room. This lack of privacy meant we could hear every tiny detail of the neighbor’s shepherding session, which was not only uncomfortable but also disrespectful and audacious for a host. The stay was completely ruined for us.

They graciously accepted my last‑minute, late‑night request and were very kind; the room was comfortable. The bathroom is a bit of a trek but manageable, and the shower provides good hot water. There is no kitchen access and the only water available is in the bathroom, so an electric kettle and some tea cups would have been appreciated. I asked for hot water and a cup for tea (I had my own tea), but nothing came. The Wi‑Fi worked well. It’s a beautiful family home in a lovely setting, and these people are very welcoming to strangers.
