“Große Enttäuschung”
The staff were consistently dedicated, friendly, competent, and attentive – a big plus for the hotel. The dinner on the first evening was very good. However, the second‑price room with a garden view did not feel worthy of a 5‑star rating; the promised garden view was blocked by a non‑enterable balcony, and the room was cramped. The bed width of 1.60 m with a shared, hard mattress made it hard to sleep, but two toppers were brought in the second night to improve firmness. The room had no blackout curtains. I climbed onto the desk in front of the window to try to loosen the fixed shutters. At 2 a.m. loud, talking guests from the bar made it 30 minutes before they could get from the garden to the room. Breakfast was average in quality and variety, nothing more. In the breakfast room, a kindergarten mother’s meeting with kids took place across three tables, and the staff, despite wanting to intervene, didn’t. Quiet breakfast was impossible. The open, visible spa area in the garden raised questions. The sauna house and the “Gumpe” – nude or not – were not regulated, but right next to them were sunbeds. What else can I say? We usually stay in high‑priced hotels in the Alps and abroad, but this hotel won’t see us again. We left two days early and gave up the money and lost vacation time.
