Located in front of Uchiura Bay, Izu Mitohama Shotokan offers indoor/outdoor public hot-spring baths and traditional multi-course meals featuring fresh seafood. Free Wi-Fi is available in the spacious lobby lounge area, and a free pick-up service to Izunagaoka Station is provided. Rooms feature tatami floors, flat-screen TVs, and private open-air baths with Mount Fuji views, or Japanese futon or Western-style beds.

The boutique Onsen was tidy, well decorated, and offered good breakfast and dinner. The surrounding area was just an old small town with nothing to do.

The staff were young, smiling and energetic, and the inn was spotless with wonderful artwork that gave a memorable, otherworldly feeling. I came with my best friend and would love to bring my wife next time in a different season. Unfortunately, the view of Mount Fuji never appeared; the weather was clear but the high temperature (38 °C) and the white clouds with rising air prevented it. The inn did nothing wrong, but it was disappointing since we had been looking forward to seeing the mountain.

The staff, from the shuttle driver to everyone at the front desk, were incredibly kind and attentive, and the service was outstanding. The location offered beautiful views, and the facilities were top‑class. The common areas stayed calm and never crowded, which was a real advantage, and we enjoyed every meal. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to coming back soon.

The views of the hot spring and the food were amazing, but it was a shame that we couldn't use the outdoor hot spring area in the morning.
