“Historic hotel with modern rooms and friendly staff”
The rooms were really great, and the bicycle storage had electricity. The staff were very friendly, and the dinner we had there was excellent.
“Gutes gediegenes Haus im schönen Straubing”
The hotel is centrally located and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was only standard, but the dinner turned out to be surprisingly good.

Everything was fine, but especially the staff were extremely friendly (including the manager 😊). We were traveling with bicycles and, thanks to the rain, could check in two hours early. Thank you! The small bicycle garage was lockable. The food in the restaurant was excellent (short ribs or spinach dumplings). The young, friendly waiter served a generous wine selection—thanks again. On the downside, the pleasant food aromas were a bit intrusive throughout the building.
The location of the hotel is undeniably ideal. However, a few inconvenient circumstances made my stay less pleasant. I had booked the hotel weeks in advance to pause my return from Hungary and resume the next day. Around 4 pm I received a call from the reception telling me that the restaurant would close at 5 pm and there would be no staff left at the front desk. Another notice mentioned that parking could be reached via Jesuitengasse. Two polite police officers from across the street pointed out the entrance to me, after they themselves had to search for it. Because the city centre consists entirely of one‑way streets, parking took about half an hour. A clearer sign such as “opposite the police parking spaces” or “narrow passage in the row of houses with a small sign” would have helped. The fact that I had to leave the hotel again to find a restaurant after a 10‑hour drive also ruined the evening.
