The location is perfect. The reception lady is terrible, especially the morning shift. She is a typical Bulgarian, and I didn’t put her in her place, but she has very little efficiency.

The new building has really nice and comfortable rooms. The restroom is enormous. There’s a metro stop in front of the hotel entrance. It’s central and close to pretty much everything. However, there were water repairs two days in a row. They did electric repairs without prior advisement. The water issue was especially frustrating because I got sick and needed to use the restroom regularly. The electricity impeded my capacity to work remotely. There are many steps that aren’t well marked, so the first evening there I injured a toe pretty badly. The front desk did not have a first aid kit. They gave water dispensers, which are invaluable given that tap water isn’t potable. The problem was that the dispensers would run out of water and one time it took them two days to replace even after I called and kindly asked that it be done. The emergency stairwell goes dark and normally I would not notice, but the day that the lights went out and the elevators weren’t working, I had to use the emergency stairs and had I not had my phone light with me I likely would’ve fallen down the stairs. My last night there, the front desk locked me out of the hotel a bit past midnight. I was really upset by this because the neighborhood is not very safe at night. When I tried leaving for the airport later that night I was locked in by the same person. There seems to be some intermittent door locking practice.

They lie about parking being included; you only get 5 spots for 150, and if you need more it costs over 300 a day.

I liked that they were very attentive to anything. However, there were many things that needed fixing, such as the power outage that lasted two hours.
