“Apart from a few issues that could be fixed, it is a hotel I would choose to visit again.”
Despite being very centrally located, the hotel stays quiet; the garden area is lovely—a peaceful spot for morning coffee—and breakfast is adequate. I was given a complimentary upgrade to a double room, and having a balcony was a nice touch. A bidet was in the bathroom, which is appreciated even without a standard spray. A taxi stand is right across the street, which is very convenient for tourists. I was greeted with a smile and sent off with a smile, but the real highlight was Ms. Sandra, a true professional with a friendly demeanor—tourists rarely get such service in Balkan countries, so a special thank you for her kind gesture. The minibar made a lot of noise, so I unplugged it before sleeping. I deducted two points because the towels, which should have been white, were somewhat grey and still had dirt and stains; the replacements I requested were in the same condition, so the towels really need to be replaced. The second reason for the deduction was the shower tray—it has no enclosure and no mount for the showerhead, so you have to hold it by hand while the whole bathroom floods with water, an extremely uncomfortable experience that could be improved. Also, the air conditioning seemed not to have switched to heating mode; the Balkans get very cold, especially in the evenings and at night, and I was shivering after getting out of the shower.
