“Not a great experience”
The location was the main attraction since we were attending a nearby wedding, and the price seemed good including breakfast. We booked four rooms with two other couples and their families. Six days before our stay I was told we would have to check out early at 10am because a film crew was arriving, but neither of our friends were told this. One couple was told the normal 11am checkout, another was told 8am, and breakfast would have to be at 7am or a £10 per room discount if they skipped it. No discount was offered for our booking because it was already taken, but we accepted it since there was no other accommodation nearby. On the morning of checkout, our room door handles were tried and some doors were knocked on before 8am. When we left our basement room, the stairs to reception were blocked by used bed linen that we had to climb over. A man near the upper rooms was abrupt with our friends and demanded the key. We felt unwelcome and like a nuisance.
