The place was relatively quiet, but the rooms in the annex were set up with the cheapest foam mattresses, worn bedding, and towels. The reception was always empty, nobody attended to anything. The breakfast, as expected, was bland and average.

The location is wonderful. Most rooms in the main building also have very nice furnishings. Mine had a nice balcony and a brilliant view. The breakfast buffet had everything you need. A small detail, but it still diminishes the overall impression. The bedding is extremely thin, washed, unironized, probably cheap. The same goes for the towels. They are probably clean and fresh, but the appearance makes you feel like you are lying in the used bed of the previous guest. A little more care in the details would be nice. Guests in the annex complained about the quality of the beds there.

The location is ideal. Very quiet. We were a group with several rooms and the opinions varied by floor. Apparently the rooms were renovated differently. The breakfast buffet was absolutely sufficient and good for a hotel in this price range. Nothing was missing. The rooms on the 1st floor were wonderful; everyone was satisfied, obviously renovated some time ago. There was nothing to complain about, except the strange cheap bedding which seemed indifferent. The rooms on the 2nd floor were of average standard, quite okay, with some shortcomings. The staff in the annex were consistently annoyed. Old worn furniture, cheap foam mattresses with back‑pain guarantee. Indifferent design.

The hotel is very central and has a large parking lot, making it a good starting point for excursions to the surroundings (Riegersburg, Zotter, Gölles, etc.). Unfortunately, this hotel has already passed its prime. In particular, the rooms in the annex no longer meet modern standards. The thin foam mattresses on simple slatted beds, the old towels, and the extremely sparse furnishings give little comfort. The rooms in the main building were renovated and have better mattresses, but still many aspects feel inadequately thought out. For example, there are no coat hooks to hang wet jackets or clothes. In room 201, the toilet under the slanted roof is extremely inconveniently placed, and there was no toilet paper holder. During our stay, towels were not changed and the completely soaked bath mat was not replaced. Overall, it seemed that the service was cut back at the expense of guests. Many details appear indifferent and aimed at minimal effort for maximum profit. The breakfast buffet could not convince us either. The selection and presentation seemed uninviting and also quite indifferent. It was also a problem that the reception was practically never staffed during our stay. The noticeable mold smell in the entrance area of the main building was especially unpleasant. The hotel has potential, especially with the partially renovated rooms in the main building, but the current condition and lack of attention to comfort and service do not justify a higher rating.
