The host Diane guided us in detail through the restored castle garden and her studio, helped with dishes and tea for a small meal, and the setting is very quiet and rural, yet a few kilometers by car you reach the Paris highway (also about 30 minutes by train to Soissons / Laon); those interested in French find a great interactive new museum near Villers-Cotterêts. The rooms are spacious and cozy with antiques yet meet modern sanitary standards. The breakfast is delicious, varied, and rich with many homemade items. Diane happily offers tips for local excursions. Nothing was lacking!
