The double bed was very comfortable and the shower was fantastic, but the single beds had springs that made the kids feel them. We saw only one staff member at breakfast who stayed at the back; nobody greeted us at the site or explained where everything was, which was especially confusing with the wedding plans we were attending.

The location was very quiet, central in the village. A good venue for events at Clearwell Castle. The landlord’s phone contact and the breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very clean. However, there was no front desk in the evenings, and finding the room was difficult even though it was described in the confirmation. We found the price‑performance ratio for a 4‑bed room rather unfavorable, and the breakfast selection was modest.
