I stayed for one night as a stopover, and the place is lovely just outside Kandy’s center, close to the botanical gardens and a good way to dodge the city’s bustle. The view from my room was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was solid.

The spot is superb, right by the Mahaweli River and only five minutes from Peradeniya University Hospital. The host, a doctor, and his family run the hotel; they called the day before to confirm my arrival. It’s a comfortable base for anyone heading to Peradeniya university or the hospital. The hot‑water shower was a pleasant surprise. The room matched the description. There’s a stair‑only floor, so if you can’t climb stairs, ask for a room with direct access.
