Hotel & Restaurant Krone

For a single night as a Rheinsteig hiker, it was perfectly acceptable. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the evening buffet was fine, geared toward large tourist groups. I would have liked the breakfast earlier, and I wouldn't spend my annual holiday there, but for one night it was good.

“Slecht”

Few positives. When we arrived, it took an unnecessarily long time before anyone helped us, and we ended up going to another hotel a kilometer away. The two beds were so saggy they felt like hammocks.

A decent choice for a quick stopover. Breakfast was good with a wide selection. We booked two double rooms in two separate buildings and had a lot of luggage. Because one of the rooms was part of a four‑person apartment, we requested to stay together so our parents wouldn't be separated; that was only possible after a discussion that felt too long for me. A kettle in a hotel room feels standard nowadays, yet they spent a long time explaining that the appliances lacked TÜV stickers and why guests couldn't use them. The room was very spacious but old, with many mosquitoes, flies, and beetles, and the bathroom was tiny.

The bed was clean and the tap water was very hot. They accommodated us in a room later than the stated check‑in time because our arrival was delayed; we had to get to the hotel from the other side of the Rhine, the ferry was broken, and we needed more time than planned. The owner personally escorted us to our apartments after we had been lost for an hour. The room was not in the correct location; we struggled to find the house because it was dark and our phone navigator couldn't locate it. We paid for breakfast but did not receive it.

The room featured a large roof terrace. The evening buffet was excellent, as was the breakfast buffet. The staff were very friendly.
