Stayed overnight and it was excellent. Beautiful, comfortable and characterful room with a really good breakfast included. The room had water, Nespresso machine plus tea / snacks and there was even complimentary Sloe Gin / Whiskey if you wanted it! Fantastic value Will definitely be back. There’s not parking on site so you’ll need to park on the road or in one of the small car parks

The rooms are quirky and full of character, and the service is excellent. The restaurant offers a good selection of tasty meals. The only drawback is that there’s no dedicated parking, though a car park is just two minutes away.

The location and the property are great, and the staff are friendly. Our room, while very beautifully decorated, felt a bit cramped and was quite warm even with the fan. The bathroom could use more towel hooks, and a warning about not turning the taps too fast would help avoid spraying everywhere.

The Bel and Dragon’s front consists of a 600‑year‑old pub area and a recently renovated large restaurant with an outdoor terrace; the décor is simply stunning. Breakfast and dinner were top‑class but pricey, and guests could also choose smaller dishes or pizzas made in a food truck outside the terrace. The place is very dog‑friendly, offering a dedicated dog bed and the hotel’s own food and drink bowls, tasty snacks, and toys. The owners provided daily free drinks in carafes outside the room, featuring a fruit gin and whiskey—a first for me. The staff were very friendly, and the room was fully equipped with a rain shower cabin and a separate toilet. Cookham is a charming village, making this spot perfect for exploring the area or visiting London, Oxford, and Windsor Castle. Guests who prefer a different setup can access their room via a back gate using a code.
