The host was welcoming and went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay; the beds were comfortable and the food was amazing! The only downside was that it’s a fair way out of town with not much to do in the area, so it’s difficult if you don’t have a car.

The owner’s caring attitude, delicious food, the spectacular scenery of Tono, and the great location all made for a wonderful experience, and I was able to relax with my dog. The only drawback was that the building showed a little bit of aging.

The host and his dogs were very friendly, and there’s a sauna and an open-air bath where you can watch the stars. The host’s home‑cooked dishes—Genghis Khan, paella, game meat—really let you feel Tono. The inn was clean, giving a sense of freshness, and you can feel Tono in the surroundings. The only issue is that it might be inconvenient to get around if you don’t have a car.

The property sits in a quiet spot with a peaceful shrine just up the hill, yet it’s close enough to visit all the attractions in the Tono area easily by bike or car. The host is very gracious and an excellent chef; we enjoyed venison steak, an outdoor BBQ, and breakfasts of fish, soup, fruit, and vegetables. Staying in the host’s family home and hearing his stories about growing up in the area was lovely. The bath and bedroom facilities were very comfortable, and the wood stove and heater in the bedroom kept everything warm at night. We would absolutely stay here again! Everything was excellent.
