The location in Freiburg’s center is excellent, close to the public parking garage (Schlossberggarage). There’s an exit toward the center; taking it means a 20‑meter walk, one left turn, and then you’re 20 meters in front of the front door. We had air‑conditioning in the room that worked fine, so it was pleasant inside. Hygiene was also in order, which is important. A very good hotel to book if you’re short on time and want to explore the old center. We had booked a Deluxe Twin Room with an extra bed because we wanted more space (there was also a child’s bed, so we needed room around it). That room should have been 23 m³, but I doubt it—probably 18 m³, max 20 m³? I suspect it was a twin room with a child’s bed placed. That was a bit disappointing because we deliberately book spacious rooms. It’s manageable, but not entirely as expected. I also found it a pity that we weren’t welcomed; the key was in a lockbox. It can be convenient, but it feels a bit impersonal, even though it was a Sunday afternoon. It’s not an F1 hotel or anything, so you miss a point of contact. The room price was just under €190, which for the room size is actually too much, but perhaps justified by the location. Overall, manageable but not fully up to expectation.

Contact with the reception was straightforward, and the room was very clean. A small supply of coffee pods and tea bags, plus a bottle of water, were replenished fresh every day. A coffee machine and a kettle were available in the room.
