Breakfast was a pleasant surprise because pastries were offered, and the coffee was good. The pillows were deflated, square, and loosely filled; I would suggest rectangular, well‑filled American‑style pillows instead.

The young man who welcomed us was very friendly, everything was clean, and the parking was free. Even though breakfast wasn’t provided, we could make coffee in the kitchen and there were pre‑packaged croissants and cakes ready, which was a nice surprise.

We had a view of Marksburg Castle, but the photo posted was misleading because there was no river view; the room’s refrigerator was very small. The “mountain view” also meant being next to a very busy road with heavy traffic from early morning until late evening, far more than I expected. It feels more like a hostel or an AirBnB than a hotel, with no breakfast options and rather old towels.

The house, charmingly aged, offered a delightful breakfast—pretzels, coffee, croissants—though we hadn’t booked it, and we’re very grateful for that. The rooms were very clean and the view of the Rhine was breathtaking. I actually have nothing to criticize; everything was as described.
