The place was close to where we needed to be, but there was no Wi‑Fi, the cleaning was inadequate, the rooms smelled of alcohol when we opened the windows, the bathroom door wouldn’t close, the toilet leaked, mosquitoes were everywhere, and the staff were unhelpful—first they told us it wasn’t our hotel a kilometre away, then when we finally got there they couldn’t find our booking.

I couldn’t even find the hotel because the address they gave was completely wrong, and the staff didn’t respond to any of my attempts to locate it.
