The staff were friendly and the location was good, and the continental breakfast was decent. However, the building we were assigned to is clearly under renovation, so we had to walk through unfinished floors to reach our room, which was on a finished floor. Inside, a strong mold odor hit us, and the bedding, while appearing clean, felt damp and was stained. The TV worked but had no cable signal, and the AC made a loud rumbling noise that woke us up repeatedly. The next morning we also found large pieces of wallpaper hanging from the walls—something we didn’t notice the night before because it was so late and the stay was unexpected. Once the renovations finish, it could be a nice spot, but booking rooms on the unfinished floors at that price seems unfair.

The price and location are great, and the staff—especially housekeeping—are friendly. The pool is decent and the hotel stays mostly clean. However, one of the commode seats in my room had dirt on it, the breakfast bar was down, and there was no anti‑slip mat in the handicap bathtub, making it risky for my partner and me to clean ourselves in that slippery tub given our mobility issues.

I went to Ridgedale to attend the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena event, but traffic prevented me from checking in before the concert. I received no email or warning that I needed to check in before the office closed, and when I arrived after the event, the office was shut and all doors locked.
