“Wasted 3 days”
The hotel claims to be five‑star, but it’s nowhere near even a one‑star experience. Walking into the lobby, dust covered everything and a foul smell lingered. The furniture in the rooms was ancient, and the sheets and linens were far from clean; we asked for replacements more than once and still received unclean sets. A cockroach appeared in the room, and it felt as if we were constantly being bitten. The towels were of terrible quality and seemed to have been replaced only at the beginning of this century. Breakfast was modest, with items like boiled eggs that appeared to be leftovers from previous mornings. The photos on the site mislead guests into thinking there was a private beach, but there isn’t. Giving the hotel a one‑star rating would be generous; it doesn’t deserve any star classification in its current state.

The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, almost as if their sole purpose was to attract guests, yet everything else fell far short of a 5‑star standard. The internet was painfully slow, the air‑conditioning was stuck at 24 °C and could not be adjusted, and the floor was dirty. Because smoking is permitted in rooms, the air carried an unpleasant odor that was intolerable for both children and non‑smokers. The television was broken, and the lack of wall insulation meant that noise from neighboring rooms was clearly audible. When I asked for an extra bed, it arrived within minutes but had been stored in a storage room and was infested with insects and mosquitoes; my child suffered numerous bites. All of this stems from the hotel’s lack of cleanliness and neglect, and I seriously question how a place like this could maintain a five‑star rating—it’s hard to believe.

I spent a day in Izmit. The room was fantastic with sea view, the pool (which we used) was great, and the breakfast was wonderful with everything you could wish for. The Wi‑Fi in the room was lacking.
