The location is great and the bed was comfortable for a few nights. The owner refunded the nights I didn’t use after I realized the listing was wrong, which I appreciated. They didn’t know the listing was misleading and it was clear on their own listing, so it seemed like a mistake and I was glad they fixed it. However, the initial description made it seem like I was booking a whole apartment, but it was actually a tiny room with a shared bathroom among many rooms. I wasn’t the only one caught by this. I was also charged a higher nightly rate than my neighbors even though my room was half the size; my request to match rates was denied. The owner initially said booking wouldn’t allow them to backdate the refund, but booking denied that claim. I’m not sure who was right, but I did get my money back for all the nights I didn’t stay, so the accommodation was adequate. I hope the listing has been updated to show it’s shared accommodation.

The room was tidy, with clean sheets, towels, and all the basic furnishings you’d expect. However, the description was misleading: the room sits on floor -1, while the bathroom is on floor 2. I never managed to use the bathroom because every time I tried to climb the stairs from the basement to floor 2 it was occupied. I was already exhausted, and this only added to my fatigue. The shared bathroom was not mentioned in the listing, and it was crowded with many guests. There was a small toilet on the ground floor that was clean but too tiny to freshen up. I was also annoyed by the confusing lock system, which took me half an hour to understand. I called several times for help but received no response, only an email reply that wasted my time. Why didn’t they mention the door lock earlier? I had planned to rest, stay overnight, and explore London the next morning, but I had to leave early because I couldn’t rest, freshen up, or even access the bathroom. This ruined my plans and felt like a total waste of money.
