The experience was unforgettable; the ryokan’s food was fresh and top‑quality, the oceanfront location gorgeous, and at night you could see stars while soaking in the onsen. The staff were outstanding, especially the attendant who stayed with us the whole time, spoke flawless English, explained every detail about meals and onsen reservations, adjusted our meals for dietary needs, and even helped us find museum tickets. He was thoughtful and essential to our pleasant stay.

A shuttle picks you up from the station and it’s a short drive to the hotel. The seaside suite with private onsen was incredible—beds comfortable, bathroom huge with a large soaking tub and a TV on the wall, the ultimate relaxation. We could adjust the private onsen temperature with a cool water faucet, the onsen was on the patio with a direct sea view, and each night we fell asleep to waves crashing on the rocks. The staff were attentive and kind, and meals were served in the suite for both breakfast and dinner, each a multi‑course affair with the freshest cuisine. The staff were incredibly accommodating, giving me a shabu pot to cook raw fish because I’m pregnant, and they offered juice instead of wine for the apéritif. The only downside is lunch isn’t served at the hotel; you can order from their restaurant or find food in town, where a few eateries and a grocery store are available. I recommend bringing snacks for between breakfast and dinner.

Meals were exceptional; you stay here for the impressive dinner spread and even the breakfast. Food was served in your room, and a staff member set up the futons after dinner and cleared them before breakfast. I’d recommend checking out both sides of the public outdoor baths (the baths rotate) for the views. Service was notably attentive, as expected from traditional ryokans. Nothing else to add.
