“Bring your earplugs!”

The staff was very helpful and courteous, the beds comfortable, the restaurant good, and the location convenient. The building is old, service is very slow, inconsistent, and incompetent. Locals aren’t used to seeing white tourists exploring the neighborhood. It’s not advisable to go out after dark unless you look “local.” It was loud almost all hours of the day and night—traffic, loud talking, slamming doors, music from the nightclub and the restaurant downstairs, and after‑hours furniture moving/cleaning make for a sleepless stay unless you have heavy‑duty earplugs. We chalked most of this up to “traveling Africa,” but sleep is important, especially when you’re paying for it.

The hotel is near the Giraffe Center. The staff is helpful, it’s clean, and breakfast hours are very flexible. Only staff can start the elevator going up; you can only go down yourself. The room card does not unlock the elevator. The bathroom window looked out onto the hallway, but that seems to be standard, as we also found it in other hotels.

“Excellent hospitality”

The personnel and breakfast were very good. Everything else was fine. It may feel a bit outside of the city centre.
