Pension Helios

The breakfast was very good and ample, with everything you’d expect. A pretty nice swimming pool is only about a 10‑minute walk away, and the beach café is also nearby.

The room was very large and spotless. The breakfast was generous and left no room for complaints. The staff were friendly and helpful; this was my second time staying at the pension.

The location is very good, in a quiet resort area that’s very clean, with shops, playgrounds, and restaurants open until late. There’s ample free parking. It’s a family business, so there’s no 24‑hour front desk, but you can call and the owner will come in 2 minutes. The rooms are very clean, the beds are excellent, and the bathroom area is spacious and very tidy. Free Wi‑Fi is great. The room didn’t have A/C, but on 3 September I didn’t need it; I don’t know how it feels in summer. Breakfast isn’t very varied but it’s enough. I stayed for one day, so I can’t comment on longer stays.

The room and balcony were comfortable, and the private bathroom was cozy. For breakfast, it would have been nice to see homemade pastries, fried eggs, and French‑style croissants on the regular menu. Most staff don’t speak Slovene, even though the town’s bilingual name is Škocjan in Podjune.

We only spent one night in the hotel and wish we had stayed longer. The hotel is lovely with a great location. The room was cozy, with a large balcony and a comfortable bed. It was exceptionally clean and well maintained (I’d love that level of cleanliness at home 😅). The buffet breakfast was tasty, and the service was pleasant.
