The Midtowner Hotel, SureStay Collection by Best Western

I received the place as a gift, but the pillow cases were stained and the room felt far from worth the $500 price tag.

The room was dirty and smelled of tobacco.

There were plenty of great food spots nearby, and I couldn't find anything to complain about.

“Schrecklich!”

The price was reasonable for the Aftershock Festival, and when we entered room 208 we thought the new furniture looked nice, but that was the end of it. The room and bathroom were still filthy and rundown despite the relatively new furnishings, with lots of dark hair everywhere, a dusty vent grille, a hanging toilet paper holder, and a sliding door that wouldn't close properly. We had no shower or hand gel for four nights, and when we asked the room‑service lady at the door she said she had nothing left in stock. The room was extremely noisy at night, as if the window was open, and it was impossible to darken it; by half‑past six it was impossible to sleep. We requested room service and it was confirmed but never delivered, so after the festival we had to pick up towels at reception. The breakfast room had about six tables and served the same bland breakfast every day. The staff was often unfriendly and unmotivated, except for two women. The price was low because we booked early, but we would never stay here again.

“Regular”

The location is good, but the bedding, bathroom, and cleaning could be improved.
