“A good hotel but not for everyone.”
The location is good. However, there are no staff; you must find codes to enter the building, which is slightly stressful. It feels more like a tiny studio apartment than a hotel, and there’s no elevator.

The Hotel Fürst Garden, Dortmund, is an 8-minute walk from the city centre, near the clinic. It offers free WiFi, satellite TV, and Nespresso coffee machines in all rooms. The hotel is close to Westfahlenhallen event venue and Signal Iduna Park stadium. Self-service online check-in and a nearby parking garage with 12 EUR/night fee are available.

The location is great, with the city centre just a five‑minute walk away and the stadium about 20 minutes on foot. That’s the only good thing about this place. The bathroom is separated from the bedroom only by a glass sliding panel, offering absolutely no sound or visual privacy. If you’re not staying alone, expect a very uncomfortable experience. I’m shocked that a place with such a basic lack of privacy can be called a hotel. Absolutely unacceptable and a terrible experience; I would not recommend staying here.

The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the bathroom was okay; there was a coffee machine on the room. The online check‑in worked well and the email communication so far has been fine. The emergency number didn’t work. One of them forwards to a KI that keeps redirecting you to the other emergency number, and after long ringing only the AB answers. When it’s raining at night and you’re stuck outside closed doors because the electronic door openers don’t accept the code and won’t unlock, that’s pretty bad. During the day everything worked fine, but at night both codes for both rooms stopped working. Technology can fail, but having no human on the emergency line is unacceptable. After an hour and police help we finally got a call back and were quickly let back into the hotel and our rooms.

The room was clean. The location is very good. Check‑in was simple. The TV with DVB‑T room antenna had very few programmes. Maybe consider TV over Wi‑LAN with a stick or a smart TV.

The hotel has a good location and the room was renovated and clean. Unfortunately, those are the only positives, because management, customer service and room design leave a lot to be desired. Customer service is non‑existent: there’s no reception or physical staff. Everything is handled by an AI chat that solves nothing; when I asked about changing towels it said “I didn’t know” and would inform its bosses. A week later we still got no reply. Misleading advertising with breakfasts: the email said you could book breakfast later and Booking shows photos of a dining room. When we arrived there was no dining room or food service; the AI told us they don’t serve breakfast and that the website and email were wrong. Dark room and false views: it advertised “beautiful garden views” but turned out to be a semi‑basement with little light where the garden floor was half a window height. Poor layout and zero privacy: the bathroom is right next to the entrance door with no separation, no window or extractor, and only a sliding partition that leaves a door‑width opening. Bad cleaning service: at 10 am a man called to change towels while we were using the bathroom, leaving us completely exposed because of the bad layout when opening the door.
