The breakfast is extraordinary. The bar is a disaster—there’s nothing, it’s completely abandoned. If you want anything, you’re out of luck; for example, there’s no Coca‑Cola, no ice, no rum, no Cuban drinks, nothing at all.

The house and the room are beautiful, very stylish, and exceptionally spacious. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, high‑quality, and tasteful, and you can immediately tell a creative mind was involved. The room’s size is particularly impressive, giving plenty of space and a great sense of comfort. The location is also excellent, with many important places easily reachable and a lovely surrounding area. Breakfast is truly outstanding, freshly made, and the chef is fantastic; the quality and flavor convinced us. The stay, however, turned out to be much more complicated than expected for a property of this type. Access to the accommodation works only via a code. At arrival we had no internet, so we couldn’t retrieve the code. Two attempts to ring the bell went unanswered, even though two people were in the building at that time. Eventually we had to call for access, which cost me about 40 USD. Because there is no reception and everything is fully digital, you’re heavily dependent on a working internet connection and digital communication. The communication channels are email, SMS, and WhatsApp, which can be somewhat cumbersome. There were also issues with luggage storage: we were told that luggage could only be kept until 13:30 because staff would leave afterward. We had hired a driver for 14:00, so we had to arrange an external storage company for those 30 minutes via a separate link. The explanation didn’t make sense to us, since staff were still on site. Breakfast must be ordered the night before through a digital platform. Overall, we found the concept very digital and not very personal. For a property without a reception, access should be straightforward, and there should be a reliable solution when there’s no internet. For us, this made the stay unnecessarily difficult.

The house is a museum, beautiful, and the location is fantastic for walking to the city center. The service and courtesies are a plus. The sheets could be softer.

The décor is the most stunning I've seen in any hotel, with a calm, peaceful vibe and meticulous attention to detail. The only hiccup was the Wi‑Fi in our room; the signal was weak and local mobile coverage was poor, so we struggled to connect, but the staff worked hard to resolve it.

The location is excellent, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, breakfast is tasty, and the staff are wonderful—just wow. This is our second stay at Casa Carmen and we’re already planning to come back next year; it’s truly remarkable.
