“Sehr schönes Hotel in Kyoto”
A perfect place to stay in Kyoto: very central yet peaceful, spacious rooms that were super equipped and spotless, and the ice cream shop is highly recommended.
“Eine tolle Hotelerfahrung. Das Zimmer mit Onsen und das Frühstück im Kimono rundeten den Aufenthalt ab und machten ihn f”
A quiet location, relaxed atmosphere, the staff are very attentive and friendly, and the breakfast is highly recommended.
“Top notch amenities but graveyard nearby cast a dark cloud on stay”
We loved being close to Gion and we absolutely loved the amenities of the property, they provided amazing high end Japanese skincare and face masks that you could use every night after showering and using the en suite onsen. The en suite onsen was an especially beautiful touch and the water was changed every day. The rooms were so clean and felt brand new with all state of the art appliances. The complementary water was also nice touch along with the free coffee machine and snacks near the lobby area. We opened our window in the morning and found a graveyard right outside of our window. It really left a bad taste in our mouths especially since most of the reviews don’t mention them and the rooms are quite expensive. We were surprised breakfast didn’t come included at the rate we were paying and we also were surprised there were no dinner options when we arrived. There was a flood on the bullet train tracks on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto so we didn’t get to the hotel until 8 pm and had to take an Uber to find dinner somewhere about a mile and a half away from the hotel
“Parenthèse reposante”
The room was very spacious with a private onsen, the staff were friendly, and the breakfasts were great; the location is close to the city center but still quiet enough to relax.
We spent four nights at this Ryokan Hotel and loved everything about it—it was the best hotel of our three‑week Japan trip; the location was very central yet super quiet and relaxing, the staff were very attentive, and each day’s breakfast was amazing, lovingly presented and well explained; we had the room with the small private onsen, which made our stay even better, the room was very big and decorated nicely, and the beds were very comfortable; free drinks (fresh fruit juices) and homemade snacks were available throughout the day; there is also a gelateria with great ice cream and special flavors (try shizo grape).
