“I enjoyed my stay apart from the incident with the worms”
Here is everything I liked about my stay: -Setting & Atmosphere: I loved the beautiful, peaceful setting and the incredible views—it was such a fantastic destination for a relaxing getaway. -Cleanliness: The lodge was kept very clean throughout my stay. -Hospitality & Staff: I felt so welcomed by the local community, and the staff were exceptionally polite, helpful, and kind. I really appreciated how genuinely and promptly they handled any hiccups. -Food: The food was delicious across the board, and the local tilapia was definitely a highlight for me! -Room Features: My room was nice and spacious, with great views and fantastic amenities—including a bathtub, an indoor shower, a separate toilet, and even an outdoor shower. -Local Activities: I really enjoyed exploring the surrounding area on foot, taking a boat out on the lake to see the local fishermen, and learning how local banana wine is made. Here is everything I did not like or had issues with during my stay: -Hot Water & Electricity: I experienced frustrating hiccups with the consistency of both hot water and electricity, which impacted my comfort. -Breakfast Issue: I was disappointed to find a couple of worms in my breakfast cereal. -Value for Money: Given the high price point, I felt the service and maintenance details didn't quite live up to the high quality expected for the cost. -Room Comfort & Ventilation: The room lacked air-conditioning and didn't have mosquito nets, making it hard to keep the windows open for breeze/ventilation without letting insects in. -Activity Pricing: I found the organized activity prices a bit steep—paying $40 ($20 per person) for the banana wine tour felt high, especially compared to going directly to the fishermen on a local boat for only about $15 total instead of the quoted $50. -Road Access: Accessing the property by car was difficult and required a 4x4, as the local roads were not suitable for a normal car. Whole this is expected when you travel to countries like Rwanda so wasn’t a big surprise
