The welcome was fantastic, the place is really pleasant and quiet—something you don’t always get in Mexico—and the terrace is lovely; the staff gave great tips for tacos on the street and the value for money is excellent. The only drawback is that it’s in a quieter neighbourhood a bit away from the centre, so you’ll need to take a bus ($5) or a taxi ($150) unless you’re wary of scams, or use a cheaper, reliable Uber, which takes a bit of time, so there’s no time left for a nap!

Elu and Cipriano were adorable hosts who guided us through everything and were very friendly. The accommodation is a bit far from the centre, but that’s part of its charm. The bus rides are an adventure if you’re from Europe.

“Ótima experiência local”

I stayed for a month and a half in one of the rooms at Casa DonajI and had a pleasant experience; the whole family is very kind, it was a pleasure to meet them and share good moments. The neighbourhood is a little farther from the centre but has affordable and frequent transport; staying in a more local area was a good choice to truly explore the city. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the terrace is a very enjoyable setting. I’m only grateful to David, Eleu and their family; I’d love to return.

The house is gorgeous and boasts an amazing terrace overlooking the mountain. The hosts are lovely and attentive, respecting your privacy. Everything was impeccably clean and smelled wonderful. The kitchen had all kinds of utensils, an oven, and even a blender. With three shared bathrooms, we never had to wait. The room had all the essentials, maybe a bit dark but still very comfortable. The internet was strong and fast for work calls. The location is a 30‑minute bus ride to the centre, costing 10 pesos per ride, and the bus stop is just a few steps from the house. There are plenty of good restaurants, laundry, shops, etc., so you don’t really need to leave the area.

The hosts were very gracious and made sure you felt welcomed. The area is nice to explore. Visiting Reforma and the volcanoes was enjoyable after spending a few days in the city centre. Thank you!
