I was really disappointed; the washroom was filthy, the toilet was unclean, and there was no Wi‑Fi at all. We drove all the way from Colombo because the photos on social media looked great, but it turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. Shit.

Steps Garden Resort far surpassed our expectations. We arrived with low expectations and were pleasantly surprised by how fantastic everything was. We stayed in the treehouse, which offered an exceptional view that made the stay feel super special and unique. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, well‑maintained, and very comfortable. The resort also has a lovely pool to relax by, and the staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. If you want a unique, clean, and welcoming stay that delivers incredible value for money, this is definitely worth booking.

The hotel sits just 20 minutes from the airport, so it’s a convenient spot for a quick layover and a good night’s sleep. They even had a local restaurant open late so we could grab a meal after midnight. The property is all green and well kept, the pool was cleaned for us, and breakfast was excellent. The only downside was the airport shuttle arriving 40 minutes late.

The swimming pool was great and the resort’s concept was interesting. The downside was that the food was pricey, and the airport shuttle cost was also on the higher side.
