A garden view frames the Deluxe Family Room, which accommodates up to four guests with three permanent beds, an additional fold‑up bed and a crib available on request. The private bathroom offers a bathtub or shower, free toiletries, towels and sheets (extra fee), a hairdryer, an electric kettle and sound‑proofing. Inside the room you’ll find hypoallergenic linens, heating, a desk, iron and ironing facilities, a wardrobe, a tea/coffee maker, a radio, a socket beside the bed, a fan, carpeted and tiled flooring, and access to the executive lounge, plus free Wi‑Fi and a flat‑screen TV.

“Very welcoming and unique stay .”
I loved the ornate and unique design of the place, and there were no issues at all.
“Not worth £200, we are expecting an amazing room, but it felt like it hadn’t been finished off very well”
The bathroom was beautiful and the bed was super comfy, plus free parking and a great location. However, the bed was only a double, not the large double advertised, and the headboard wasn’t fixed—just sitting between the bed and the wall, so it shifted while I slept. The floor was rough; carpeting instead of rugs would have helped, and there were cables running under the carpet across the room.

The staff were very kind, handed out complimentary drinks, and let us wait in the drawing room until our room was ready. It was a peaceful spot and the bathroom was beautiful. The floors could use a finish— I even got a splinter from them— the hardwood would look great with a glossy finish or stain.

The decor and surrounding nature were nice, and the hosts were friendly. The beds were very uncomfortable; the springs poked out of the mattress and made it hard to sleep, and the pillows were hard. The bathroom doors didn’t close properly, and the doors in general felt odd.
“Tolles Haus und perfekter Gastgeber”
Situated near Edinburgh in a beautiful old house, we felt very comfortable and enjoyed a complimentary whisky in the lounge each evening – a lovely way to end the day. The breakfast alone is worth recommending for its ambience, and everything was freshly prepared and delicious. We drove into Edinburgh during the day, and the parking lot beneath the castle was central and fairly priced. An early‑bird ticket helped, and traffic in the city was very relaxed. Thanks to the host for a wonderful house and excellent service.
