The rainforest backdrop is lovely, but as repeat guests we notice the place needs more upkeep – it feels like a school camp lately, and this is our third visit.

The location was good. The room felt a bit too basic for the price, so I upgraded to a $70 per night room with kitchen facilities. Cooking was outside, which was a nice touch but also very primitive. We were cold at night; the blanket was too thin for winter, and there was almost nothing at reception, so I couldn't ask for an extra blanket before bed.

It was well placed for exploring Daintree. The place was dirty when we arrived and stayed unclean throughout our stay. There was never a reception attendant, so no one could give us dry towels or an extra spoon. The bathroom was rundown, smelly, and had no ventilation. The website photos made me think there was a TV in the room, but there wasn’t. Wi‑Fi didn’t work in the room. There were no chairs or a table in the room, the restaurant was closed, and there weren’t enough parking spots.

It was quiet. No facilities were open, no restaurant or bar, etc.

The place was run down and neglected; I booked a meal at the restaurant only to find they had no food, so I had to find another place to eat. There aren’t many options in Cape Tribulation. The room we stayed in smelled of mold and dampness.
