“Kein Best Western Plus Niveau!”
I stayed in a room that had a fridge, coffee machine, and decent mattresses, and the tram to Hauptbahnhof ran right outside the hotel. The breakfast buffet was very good, with constant refilling, and the price was cheap. However, the room was marketed as a “De Luxe” but felt cramped because the extra table and two large armchairs filled the space, making it hard to get out of bed comfortably. A luggage rack would have been more useful than the extra furniture. The TV only allowed a low volume, and the biggest issue was a curtain‑jalousie in front of the window that couldn’t be opened from inside, so I could only look at it and felt trapped. The location was a residential area; restaurants were missing, so I had to take the train into the city. The hotel bistro was confusing: we wanted a quick bite, but the waiter said we couldn’t eat there and had to go upstairs where only tour groups were allowed. When we returned downstairs, the staff tried to push us away, claiming it was inconvenient for us, before finally letting us sit. We were a group of four, but the space was only half full, and they kept saying “you can’t sit there” because other guests were coming back. Eventually we found a table, but the waiter suggested we ask the chef for a four‑person order, which was odd.
