“Huge disappointment. Going downhill?”

I’ve stayed at this property about five times in total; the location is very convenient and the staff are always incredibly helpful. However, this visit the sink was severely damaged with water seeping into the stone, there was mold around the perimeter of the shower, bathroom, and bedroom, and the room had a smell of old cooking oil. Having stayed so many times before, I had certain expectations for the hotel’s quality, but this room was a complete let‑down and we did not have a very comfortable stay.

It was a great place to stay and travel from, everything was satisfying, and the French‑style course dinner on the hotel’s first floor was really delicious. The onsen after a full day’s schedule was so good it removed all the fatigue of the day. There was nothing negative; I felt the price seemed a bit high when I booked, but the value matched that price while staying.

The room was just great! The location was disappointing; when I tried to look out the window for a view, the view was only from a regular household window, which was a let‑down even though it was close by.

The location was impeccable and on a weekday in the off‑season there were probably few other guests, so I didn’t feel any stress. The room was spacious enough, but the bed was directly opposite the bathroom (the glass wall made it see‑through) and the toilet door was frosted glass so you could see inside. The switches for the lights could be clearer.
