“Heeft z’n beste tijd gehad.”

The manager was friendly, but the place is outdated and urgently needs a refresh. The TV didn’t work during the first two nights, and the rooms were noisy.

“Such a good experience, we will definitely stay at Banksia next time we are in Cape Town.”

The manager was welcoming and engaging, genuinely kind and ready to help with any request. The property is beautiful, with unusual architecture and a peaceful vibe. Our room was huge and had a great double shower. No complaints, except maybe some orange juice at breakfast.

There was a lack of staff and slow service, and communication was missing. Reception and overall service were poor.

I didn't get an extra blanket, so I had to take one from the room next door. There was no plug point beside the bed to charge my phone. The spot light in the bathroom was broken, making it very dark when I tried to apply makeup in the morning. The bath mats were frayed and smelled bad, and the pillow cases were old and stinky. The door handle was falling off. The cold water tap in the bath was broken, so I couldn't get cold water. The fitting in the shower next to the tap was also coming off. The curtains by the bath were not clean, and the lamp next to the bed was flashing, probably due to a loose connection.

“Comfortable and easy”

The grounds and architecture were beautiful, but there were some quirks, which is typical for historic properties.
