The view and location were nice. The facilities were very old and there was no air conditioning in the rooms.

The spot sits right on Playa Cañaveral, and from the upper cabins the sea view is amazing. The sun loungers at the little pool beach need some upkeep and cleaning, but they’re still a nice addition. The staff are friendly and courteous, especially Uldarico. On the downside, the food is pricey, ranging from 60,000 to 95,000 per dish, and drinks cost between 10,000 and 20,000. The staircase lighting is inadequate, and the room’s mosquito nets need more maintenance.

The place is very pretty. It’s time for the restaurant to revamp its menu; after six years it’s still the same, and everyone uses vegetable oils, so the dining experience was disappointing.

We stayed three nights in the bungaló. The location is gorgeous, with spectacular views and a truly special setting, and we didn’t need air conditioning because the fan and breeze were enough. Still, the experience fell far short of what we expected from a hotel of this class and price. Service was poor before and throughout our stay: messages weren’t answered promptly, which was frustrating when we needed help. Shockingly, no one told us that water wouldn’t be included and that we’d have to buy bottles separately; the price was about four times higher than in Santa Marta, and we ended up paying over $100,000 in water for just three days. We came from another Santa Marta hotel where water was included, so the charge seemed completely disproportionate. Bring your own water if you’re going. The restaurant was another big letdown: the food was bland, options were scarce, and vegetarian choices were very limited. Prices were high, and the food didn’t even come close to justifying the cost. It’s incomprehensible that a hotel of this level doesn’t have a hair dryer, let alone a shared one; if you don’t bring your own, you’re left with wet hair. There are no wardrobes to hang clothes, a basic necessity for a multi‑day stay. Even at check‑out, the staff showed no initiative; we had to haul our own luggage and only after we were done did they ask if we needed help.

The only place inside the park besides tents, hammocks, and basic huts. I was lucky to be inside the park when it closed to the outside, with stunning views and picturesque beaches—an extraordinary experience and the staff were incredible. The steep steps to the huts are a problem if you have knee issues, and the large beach had big surf, making it dangerous and prohibited to swim for safety because of the sea location. The huts need constant upkeep, so manage expectations; the bathrooms are adequate but basic, yet we had a very relaxed time. Maybe bring two hammocks!!!
