Bee went above and beyond; she was an exceptional host who truly went the extra mile to make our stay special. She explained the river and pond to us, and knowing we were traveling with a toddler, we were grateful for the safety heads‑up. She even offered to pop to the shop for our little boy when we arrived late in case we needed any food for him—a thoughtful touch. The lodge itself was spotless, beautifully presented, and stocked with every cleaning supply we could possibly need. The resident cat was an absolute delight and became a highlight of our holiday; seeing him each morning and evening was lovely, and our little boy pointed him out excitedly every time. The kitchen had a great variety of utensils, pots, and pans. Luxurious soaps and lotions were a nice bonus. The grounds were tranquil and peaceful, with emus next door adding a fun surprise to the setting. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return. Bee’s hospitality and the beautiful surroundings made it truly memorable. The only downsides were minor but worth mentioning: being close to the pond meant a lot of flies—understandable for the location, but it did become an issue. Our own trap (using dish soap and cider vinegar) didn’t help as much as we hoped, so some fly‑repellent plugs or fly tape in the cupboard would be useful for future guests. The front door seemed to expand in the heat, and we only managed to lock it once during our stay. It wasn’t ideal having it unlocked, but because the lodge is so secluded, we still felt safe.
