The bath and toilet were spotless, and being close to the prefectural office meant buses—both local and express—came frequently, so it wasn't too inconvenient. However, the 24:00 check‑out deadline was a problem because there are no buses from the station to the prefectural office at night, so you have to plan your time carefully.

The price was reasonable and the room was clean, and the staff were friendly. The location is a bit far from the station, making access tricky; while a highway bus can take you from the hotel to the station, figuring out how to get from the station back to the hotel is not straightforward.

It was close to my destination and far cheaper than the average in Yamagata City. Because the building is old and has been renovated in various ways, the overall design feels disjointed.
